The preferred motor per our testing is the Makita RT0701C router motor having great bearings, is reliable, variable speed as slow as 9500rpm and has a 65mm/2.56″ body. The Makita RT0701C is readily available at tool stores, Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, and others.
Alternative variable speed routers compatible with the ScrewSaver machine; Grizzly T27123, Performax 2410973, and Rocky 30 routers.
